Cambodia Gambling Dens
There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, investment sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and although visas are allegedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is real of many border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge casino, features 150 slots and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the common tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel building that features many luxuries accompanying the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight tables.
