Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino gambling is not legal. Eight gambling halls are established in a generally tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; although, financial sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat casino, features 150 one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel building that features numerous comforts in addition to the casino, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 table games.
