Cambodia Casinos
There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where casino gaming is not permitted. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime area, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 1700, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes required to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most borders.
The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, highlights 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that features a number of amenities aside from the casino, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
